Brahmotsavam - DD's review
Category: Family drama
Language: Telugu
Released: May 21st, 2016
******* SPOILER ALERT *******
First half of the movie is a disaster. Hardly there was a story telling, except interval scene. Most of the first half reel was filled with songs. Except for the first song, other songs are pathetic. I felt like I need a "Fast Forward" button to forward all the songs. Second half is even more disastrous. Problem of the movie is the story line is very thin. Only interval scene and climax are related to the story. Other scenes are just fillers to fill the two and half hour reel....
Story is simple. Satyaraj is a successful business man in Vijayawada, father of Mahesh babu. His brother in law is envious of his success. He wants her daughter to get married to Mahesh. After watching Mahesh kissing Kajal, he departs from the family breaking the Joint family. How Mahesh brings back the family forms the rest of the story?
Mahesh looks elegant in the family. He is the lone warrior fighting the lost battle. Rao Ramesh's slang is exactly same as his character in SVSC. His negative character is the best in the film. Photography is rich. Worst music, Worst direction and snail paced screenplay made this a disaster. Mogali rekhulu serial is far more interesting than this. Huge star cast and huge budget has gone in gutter. Kajal and Samantha looked beautiful. I didn't understand Kajal's characterization except she doesn't like Joint family. Samantha came in second half just because heroine is needed in second half. Vennela kishore brief role is good. I dont want to talk about Pranitha. I seriously didn't understand what Pranitha wants to say, in every scene. Addala Srikanth has produced the biggest disaster of this year.
Boring scenes:
1. Manchi mata dialogues
2. Mee ammai ma abbai dialogues
3. Kajal and Mahesh love scenes
4. Songs
Huge relief for me when I walked out of the theater...
My rating: 2/5 (1 for Mahesh and 0.5 for Director's intention of conveying values and culture and 0.5 for Photography)
My Last words: "ekkuvaga alochinchakandi" Just avoid it.
