Shamantakmani - DD review
Language: Telugu
Genre: Thriller
First half is ok. Second half is ok with an exciting climax.
Second thriller in a row by Sriram Aditya, after "Bhale manchiroju". I felt Tarantino's type of twisty screenplay and dark comedy in Sriram's screenplay.
Shamantakmani is a vintage Rolls-Royce car and the story revolves around the car, which is worth 5 crores. Inspector Ranjith (Nara rohith) starts investigating the case. Each clue leads to each hero. The prime suspects are Uma Mahesh (Rajendra Prasad), Shiva(Sundeep Kishan), Karthik(Aadhi). They all have their stories to go to a pub of a star hotel, Provotel, where the car is stolen. Who is the robber and why did he steal the car forms the story.
Any thriller, if associated with a good comedy and few thrilling moments will definitely become a blockbuster. Shamantakmani is a flat ride. Neither you get bored nor you get thrilled. Climax is the saving grace for the movie. The twists at the end are hard to predict. Last 10 minutes of the movie is exciting. Dialogues, if given to some seasoned writers, would have generated few laughs. It's a challenge for a director to direct a multistarrers because of the question screenspace each hero has to share. Sriram has succeeded in providing equal screenspace to all heroes. Their characters are etched well to the story. Heroines Chandini chowdary, Sony, Ananya share very less screenspace though. One common point I noticed in Sriram's movies is heroines always ditch/leave heroes 😂.

Not much comedy.
No thrilling moments except climax.
My rating: 3/5
Last words: Welcoming attempt. It would be good if more directors attempt multi-starrers.
Okay to watch once.
